MILE HIGH 420 Festival MAP

MILE HIGH 420 FESTIVAL MAP
I had the pleasure of creating a map for the world's largest 420 Festival in vibrant Denver, Colorado. This event brings together a community that enjoys the benefits of marijuana, set against the backdrop of a spacious civic park. Understanding the laid-back atmosphere, I crafted a map with a user-friendly, simplified design. It's tailored to ensure that everyone, no matter their state of mind, can easily navigate and find key landmarks.

PROCESS
The first thing I do is look at the map and study it to understand what must be included in a simplified version and what should be omitted to enhance clarity.
ROADS AND PATHWAYS
Roads and pathways should be as minimalistic as possible.

LANDMARKS
While routes must be simple. Landmarks should have appealing characteristics and distinctive silhouettes. In the final design, there will be a list of every landmark accompanied by a brief description of what can be found at each location. However, this list is intended for minor clarifications. Ideally, landmarks should be self-explanatory through their visual representation.

ASSEMBLING AND GRAPHIC LINE
The most effective workflow I have discovered is to sketch each element separately in the same perspective, and then bring those sketches together to assess what needs improvement before finalizing.
In this case, to maintain consistency with the graphic identity I established in the flyer design, I planned to incorporate some of the flyer's details into the map.

ADDITIONAL MAPS DESIGNED BY ME
I was able to complete after dedicating two days to each.
